Hello! I am Whumpy. I am a semi-frequent poster on the website AO3 where I like to create and write fanfiction.I am particularly interested in creating works which involve sickfics and Whump as they are my personal favourites to write.I tend to change what my interest is quite frequently and shift fandoms a lot, but I do tent to come back to them after some months or when new content is released about them.I was born and raised in the United Kingdom where I still reside now. I am always down to talk to others about their interests if they spent time getting to listen to mine.

-DiscordHow do you write a whump/sickficFor me, the ideas tend to come naturally. But they can also be influenced by things I watch.I could be enjoying a cartoon and a character ends up getting a nasty wound, or hitting their head really hard.My advice for when it comes to writing is to look at things you enjoy and look at the surroundings.Is the character in a dangerous area? Do they visit somewhere frequently that they could get hurt? such as a forest with a lot of steep drops?You could take any character and be able to pull off a sickfic/whump fic with them.Don't be afraid to use references, artists do it all the time! And also, Web MD is your friend. :)How long have you been writing?For me, I have always been writing stories from as long as I remember, but I never knew what, the website AO3 was until I was older.I first started posting to the website in 2019, and have been posting ever since. Overcoming writer's blockWriters block is something that I still very much struggle with to this day, somedays I will sit at my desktop staring at the draft on google docs and I stare.When the words aren't wording, I have a simple but easy trick.You write it as boring as you possibly can, you write out as much as the fic as you want too.The best way I can describe it as like this.'Tamara had fallen and hurt her arm.'
Sure, it tells you that Tamara's hurt, but it's boring, right?Well, that's exactly how I do all my fics. I make it so boring that I want to make it interesting. So from that, I go to this.'Tamara had been running, sprinting as fast as she could. But now she had to deal with the side effects of an injured arm.'So that's how that works, but you can make it even better by adding more.'Tamara had been running, she had been sprinting. Running as fast as her feet allowed her too as she attempted to escape.This seemed to be foolish as her recklessness had ended with her tripping, skidding along the forest floor.Glancing down at her arm she noticed the way it bleed, dirt tracing the wound.'See how effective it is? Just like that we went from seven words to over fifty. And that was only from once sentance.Keep repeating that, and you'll be getting to over 1000 within minutes.
